The annual Soup-A-Palooza fundraiser was a major success with hundreds of dine-in and carry-out orders keeping Emporia Farmers Market staff and volunteers busy Tuesday afternoon.
Soup-A-Palooza is the market’s largest annual fundraiser each year with all proceeds benefiting market activities and operations year-round. Here’s Coordinator Trisha Fullerton:
The cost of a meal, which included one of the four homemade soups and a dessert, was a suggested donation of $6. Fundraising totals from soup sales and a silent auction are currently pending.
With Soup-A-Palooza now wrapped up, Farmers Market staff and volunteers now shift their focus to the start of the indoor market season. Indoor markets will take place the first and third Saturday of the month from 10 am to noon at Waters Hardware.
The first indoor market is this coming Saturday. For more information, call the Farmers Market at 620-343-6555 or find the Farmers Market on Facebook.
