The NFL trade deadline has come and gone for 2021.
The Kansas City Chiefs acquired two new players both defensively and offensively. The Chiefs agreed to a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers sending defensive end Melvin Ingrim to Kansas City in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round draft pick.
The Chiefs also added tight end Daniel Brown from the New York Jets in exchange for guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif.
The Tennessee Titans signed running back Adrian Peterson after Derrick Henry suffered a possibly season-ending foot injury against the Colts on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints confirmed major knee damage to quarterback Jameis Winston in the first half of the team’s win against Tampa Bay. Winston tore his ACL and damaged his MCL early in the second quarter. Trevor Semian replaced Winston during the game, but head coach Sean Payton hasn’t indicated whether Semian or Taysom Hill will get the start Sunday against Atlanta.
The other big personnel story came from Denver, where the Broncos have agreed to trade eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller to the Rams in exchange for a second-round and third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Denver will also pay $9 million of Miller’s remaining $9.7 million base salary for the nine games left on the regular-season schedule.
