Overall cases, active cases and deaths all increased in Lyon County Public Health’s latest data set Wednesday.
Public Health reported 26 new cases Wednesday bringing the overall total to 5,623 since late last March. After decreasing by two on Monday, active cases rose slightly from 76 to 84 Wednesday with 17 recoveries noted.
Of the 84 active cases 17 are considered breakthroughs meaning infections in fully vaccinated residents. Collectively, Public Health has identified 269 breakthrough cases in Lyon County.
Deaths increased for the first time since late September from 90 to 91 with one case pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Active hospitalizations were unchanged at three.
