Grant applications, contract renewals and project bids have all been approved by the Lyon County Commission.
During its weekly action session Thursday morning, the commission gave unanimous approval for Lyon County Area Transportation Director Shane Brunner to sign and submit the agency’s fiscal 2023 grant application to the Kansas Department of Transportation. If approved, the agency could receive up to $809,550 for operating and administrative costs.
Director Shane Brunner says the grant covers a large portion of the agency’s operating budget each year.
In other business, commissioners approved a nearly $7,100 bid presented by Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods for signposts and hardware from National Sign Company as well as a mapping maintenance contract renewal with ESRI presented by Lyon County Appraiser Ryan Janzen.
The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its weekly action session next Thursday at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse.
