The Madison Bulldogs advanced to the third round of the 8 man Division I playoffs with a 56-6 win over West Elk Friday.
West Elk would contain the Madison Offense holding them to just 20 points in the first half. In the third quarter, junior Running Back Bryson Turner would extend the Bulldog’s lead scoring a 37-yard touchdown run in the first eight seconds of the half.
The Bulldogs would find the endzone four more times and gave up just one touchdown to clinch their fourth consecutive regional championship. Turner led the Bulldogs with 275 yards rushing and five touchdowns as well as 60 yards receiving and one touchdown.
Turner says his team has a lot of trust in one another.
Head Coach Alex McMillian says he was happy to see his team play a nearly full game as they get deeper into the playoffs.
Madison now improves to 10-0 on the season and will host the defending 8 man DI state champions Little River next Friday.
Little River outscored Burlingame 42-26.
The Olpe Eagles shut out Jackson Heights 35-0. Damon Redeker scored 2 rushing touchdowns and threw 2 touchdown passes. One to Derek Hoelting and one to Truman Bailey. Garrett Cole also scored a rushing touchdown for the Eagles. Olpe hosts Jefferson County North next Friday.
