The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is asking anybody with information about a shooting incident early Sunday to step forward.
Sheriff Chris Wells says deputies received a 911 call of shots fired at a stopped vehicle northwest of Burlingame around 1 am. As they and Burlingame Police arrived and searched the area, several more shots were allegedly fired at law enforcement.
A Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter and Osage County K-9 unit both responded to help the search, but the person or people responsible were not found. Suspect information is not currently available.
