A two-vehicle injury accident resulted in two individuals going to the hospital early Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred in the 1900 block of West 6th Ave. in front of Wendy’s around 5:45 pm.
According to Emporia Police at the scene, a Chevy Equinox and Jeep Liberty were both westbound on Sixth when the Jeep stopped to turn into Wendy’s. Due to poor visibility caused by weather conditions, the Equinox could not see the Jeep and rear-ended it.
Both drivers refused a trip to Newman Regional Health by ambulance but later went by private vehicles with what are being called minor injuries. A citation was issued to the driver of the Equinox, however, further information will not be released.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
