Contracts have been signed for various road and bridge projects near Emporia.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority has contracted with Lindner Painting of Lincoln, Nebraska, for painting eight bridges between Butler and Shawnee counties, including unspecified bridges in Chase, Lyon and Osage counties. The winning bid was for over $413,000.
Also, the Kansas Department of Transportation has approved a bid for repaving US Highway 50 just north of Strong City. Vogts-Parga Construction of Newton will repave about 0.7 of a mile of the highway at a cost of almost $1.8 million.
Timetables for these projects have not been released.
