Trial proceedings are set to begin Monday for a man accused of rape in an Emporia case from this past summer.
Matthew Allen Patterson is set for jury selection Monday morning before opening arguments and the start of testimony in Lyon County District Court. Patterson is formally charged with one count of child rape as well as three counts of aggravated criminal sodomy and one count of aggravated indecent liberties.
Patterson, age 36, is accused of raping and fondling a then-9-year-old child in late June.
