3 pm Tuesday: National Weather Service issues fire weather watch affecting Morris County on Wednesday
Conditions will be ripe for fire activity in one area county Wednesday into Thursday.
Morris County has been placed into a fire weather watch beginning Wednesday morning and continuing through Thursday afternoon. Low humidity will lead to dry conditions meaning dry fuels will be at a greater risk of ignition.
Gusty winds will also mean a greater risk of spread in the event a fire were to develop. Outdoor burning is not recommended and residents are asked to be mindful when discarding smoking materials.
