Things are coming together for the KVOE-National Teachers Hall of Fame Radio Auction on Thursday night.
If you don’t believe us, ask Hall of Fame Director Carol Strickland.
This is the 30th year for the auction, and the recent tradition of holding the event at the Emporia State Federal Credit Union’s Industrial Road branch returns after the auction was modified to work through coronavirus protocols last year.
There is an extra emphasis on funding this year. Under normal circumstances, the auction provides seed money for the following year’s induction ceremonies. Last year’s inductions were postponed three different times due to COVID, so there will essentially be a double induction ceremony in June — meaning costs are doubled as well. The goal this year is $30,000.
Numerous items are on the auction block. Click here for that information.
The auction begins at 6:05 pm on 14 KVOE, 96.9 FM, KVOE-TV at KVOE.com and ValuNet FIBER channel 3. To bid during the auction, call KVOE at 620-342-5863 or 620-342-1400. You can also message the Bluestem Farm and Ranch text line at 620-342-5863.
