Coffey County has won another round of state funding for infrastructure projects as part of the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Cost Share Program.
Acceleration and deceleration lanes will be constructed along US Highway 75 at six intersections: Seventh, Eighth, Cross, 14th, 15th and 22nd.
The Coffey County project was one of 84 applications submitted and 20 approved. Specific dollar amounts have not been announced, but KDOT says over $9 million was awarded statewide as part of the fall Cost Share announcement.
This follows Lebo’s $205,000 Cost Share award in the fall 2020 cycle for a shared-use path from downtown to the city’s business park. It’s also unrelated to the work in Lebo.
Lyon County received almost $400,000 to replace the Road Z bridge between Roads 60 and 70 as part of the spring 2021 Cost Share cycle, while Morris County received funding to replace the Neosho River bridge just west of Dunlap.
