The Emporia State women needed double overtime to pick up their 3rd win of the season, outscoring Lindenwood 103-102.
Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn was happy to get the victory.
Victoria Price gave the Lady Hornets the final lead with a layup with 3 seconds to play.
Emporia State trailed early in the game by 8 points but used a 26-16 run to close out the 1st quarter to take a 28-25 lead. The Lady Hornets led by 10 in the 2nd quarter only to have Lindenwood close out the half on a 15-6 run and Emporia State led 46-45 at halftime.
The Lady Hornets led 58-57 going to the 4th quarter. The game was tied at 79 at the end of regulation. At the end of the 1st overtime the game was tied at 90.
Tre’Zure Jobe tied her career-high with 33 points to lead 6 players in double figures. Victoria Price added 17 points, Karsen Schultz finished with 14 points.
Fredricka Sheats added 12 points, Ehlaina Hartman and Emily Weathers both scored 10 points.
Lindenwood was led by Julia Ruzevich with 29 points and 15 rebounds, Ellen McCorkle added 22 points and 13 rebounds.
With the win, the Lady Hornets are 3-0 to start the season. They play their home opener Saturday when they host Drury. Game time is set for 1:30 PM.
