A 12-year-old student from Olpe is a regional winner in the Kansas Department of Transportation’s “Put the Brakes on Fatalities” poster contest.
Kyla Kuhlmann, the daughter of Josh and Katie Kuhlmann, created a poster that says, “Baseball is like driving. It’s the one that gets home safe that counts.”
Kyla Kuhlmann is one of three winners in northeast Kansas. She receives a bike from the Kansas Turnpike Authority and a helmet donated by Safe Kids Kansas.
Nearly 650 children ages 5-13 created posters for the contest.
