Active coronavirus cases continued to increase, albeit very slightly, in Lyon County Friday.
Lyon County Public Health reported 34 new cases Friday raising the overall total to 5,843 since late last March. 33 recoveries saw the active total increase by one to 134.
Of the 134 cases, 24 are considered breakthroughs meaning infections in fully vaccinated residents. Public Health has identified a total of 322 collective breakthrough cases.
Deaths were unchanged at 92, however, the number of deaths awaiting final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment increased to two. Active hospitalizations remain unchanged at four.
