The Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s list of COVID-19 travel quarantine nations is shuffling again.
On the list are Austria, Cayman Islands, Croatia and Gibraltar. Off the list are the state of Alaska and the countries of Estonia, Isle of Man, Lithuania and Serbia.
Unvaccinated residents need to quarantine if they meet the criteria as listed below:
*Traveled between Oct. 7 and Nov. 18 to Alaska.
*Traveled on or after Oct. 22 to Barbados and Georgia.
*Traveled between Oct. 22 and Nov. 18 to Latvia and Serbia.
*Traveled on or after Nov. 4 to Faroe Islands and Slovenia.
*Traveled between Nov. 4 and Nov. 18 to Estonia, Isle of Man and Lithuania.
*Traveled on or after Nov. 18 to Austria, Cayman Islands, Croatia and Gibraltar.
*Attendance at any out-of-state or in-state mass gatherings of 500 or more where individuals do not socially distance (6 feet) and wear a mask.
*Been on a cruise ship or river cruise on or after March 15, 2020.
KDHE’s travel quarantine policy has not changed since the last update two weeks ago. Unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated residents need to quarantine for seven days with a negative test or 10 days without testing.
Fully-vaccinated residents, meaning residents who are two weeks past their final vaccine dose, do not have to quarantine if they have remained asymptomatic since they traveled. People who had COVID-19 in the past also don’t have to quarantine — if they have test evidence of a prior infection, are within six months of their infection and have remained asymptomatic since they traveled.
