A Texas man was taken to Newman Regional Health following a semi accident in Chase County Sunday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, the accident occurred on the Kansas Turnpike at mile marker 102.2 northbound shortly before 9 am. A semi, driven by 32-year-old Stephan Lawrence Harz of Providence Village, TX, was traveling northbound when for unknown reasons the semi left the road, struck a guardrail and concrete barrier and rolled over into the ditch.
Emporia/Lyon County EMS were called to the scene initially but were canceled en route. Emergency crews would be called out again, this time to mile marker 103.4 around 9:30 am after an ambulance was requested.
Harz was taken to Newman Regional Health with what are being called minor injuries.

Emporia/Lyon County EMS was called to the same scene twice after an injury accident on the Kansas Turnpike Sunday morning.
Emergency crews were originally called to KTA mile marker 103.4 northbound shortly after 9 am for a reported injury accident, however, they were canceled before arriving at the scene. EMS was called back to the crash site just before 9:30 am after an ambulance was requested for one individual with apparently minor injuries.
Further details, including a crash narrative, the number of vehicles involved and if there were any medical transports, are currently pending.
