The best season in program history came to an end Sunday for the Emporia State soccer team. Bemidji State outscored the Lady Hornets 1-0 in the NCAA Central Regional semi-finals.
Emporia State Coach Bryan Sailer said they gave it a great effort.
Senior Ashlyn Lakin called the season a great accomplishment.
The Lady Hornets finished with a 19-3-1 record. They were the MIAA Tournament Champions.
Bemidji State Coach Jim Stone said they won a tough match against a good team.
Freshman Mariah Nguyen scored the lone goal in the 34th minute of play.
Bemidji State will play Central Missouri in the Regional Championship match.
