An old-fashioned Christmas celebration is coming this weekend to the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve.
Held in conjunction with the Chase County Country Christmas, the preserve’s Prairie Christmas will feature cookie baking, holiday music, crafts and readings of “‘Twas the Night before Christmas.”
Activities will go from 12-4 pm Saturday, but the visitor center, Spring Hill Ranch buildings and Lower Fox Creek School will all be decorated for the holidays from Saturday through the end of the year.
After better than a year of postponed or canceled activities, the preserve has become more active for the holidays with its fifth annual candlelight tour held earlier this month.
