The Emporia State basketball teams can enjoy Thanksgiving after picking up wins Wednesday.
The Emporia State men jumped out to an 8-0 lead and never looked back on the way to a 112-54 win over Tabor. 5 Hornets scored in double-figures led by Jumah’Ri Turners 22 points. Tray Buchanan added 21 points. Kaden Evans scored 17 points. Peyton Rogers-Schmidt finished with 11 points. Gage McGuire scored 10 points. Emporia State Coach Craig Doty said it was a good effort.
With the win, the Hornets are now 4-1 for the Season. They will host Graceland Sunday afternoon.
The Emporia State women outscored Bethel 91-49. They blew the game open outscoring Bethel 27-3 in the 3rd quarter.
Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn said they improved.
Tre’ Zure Jobe led the offense with 22 points, Fredricka Sheats added 19 points.
Victoria Price finished with 17 points, Emily Weathers scored 10 points.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improved to 4-1. They will host Peru State Saturday.
