The phrase “‘Tis the season” doesn’t always mean good things when it comes to the holidays.
Case in point: the KVOE Mitten Tree at Flinthills Mall’s NexTech Wireless store, which was stolen — along with items — sometime before Tuesday morning. The tree, along with trees at six other locations across Emporia, is a collection point for winter clothing items to benefit people receiving services through SOS.
A new tree is out at the mall. Other locations include:
*Bluestem Farm & Ranch Supply – 2611 W. Hwy 50
*Graves Drugs – 609 Commercial
*Mel’s Tire – 915 Graham St.
*Emporia Public Library (compliments of Cargill, Inc.) – 110 E. 6th Ave
*Trox Gallery and Gifts and Gravel City Roasters – 715 Commercial
*Skin Studio – 710 Commercial
