Once again the Flint Hills Optimist Club will be helping local residents find their perfect Christmas tree this year.
The club’s annual Christmas Tree Lot fundraiser begins Friday and will continue until all of the trees are sold according to club member Bob Burnheide who recently joined KVOE’s Morning Show to discuss the tree lot’s opening. Due to drought issues earlier this year, Burnheide says they do have about 100 fewer trees this year than in years past, however, he says they still have the same great variety of trees and other festive decorations available.
Tree prices range from $34-$100 and Burnheide says they’re expecting the selection will go fast. All proceeds generated by the tree lot will go to support scholarships and organizations within the local community.
The tree lot opens Friday at 10 am until 8 pm. After that, hours of operation are 5 pm to 8 pm Monday through Friday, 10 am to 8 pm Saturdays and 1 pm to 6 pm Sundays.
The tree lot is again located in the Guion’s Showcase parking lot at 2023 West 6th Ave. in Emporia.
