The Emporia High boys swim and dive team will open their season Wednesday.
With the swimming pool under reconstruction at Emporia High, one of the big challenges for Coach Jamie Dawson has been finding someplace to practice.
They have practiced at Emporia State and will also be going to Topeka and Marion.
Coach Dawson has 31 swimmers out says she is pleased with the progress.
Among the 31 are 2 returning state-qualifying swimmers. Cam Geitz is one of those swimmers he was part of the 200 free relay team that finished in 22nd place at state.
Rudy Bedolla was also a member of that relay team.
Emporia High also returns the defending State Diving Champion in Braxton Higgins.
The Spartans open their season at the Topeka West Invitational Wednesday.
