Quarterback Will Howard scored on a 71-yard run to give the Wildcats a 14-13 lead. Chris Tennant kicked a personal best 51-yard field goal to put Kansas State in front 17-13.
Texas would score the next 9 points and held on for the win.
Kansas State Coach Chris Klieman called it a frustrating loss.
The Wildcats finish the regular season 7-5. They will await their bowl game invitation.
