After winning the Class 1A football title last year, the Olpe Eagles made it a goal to repeat as champions.
The Eagles did just that, capping the season with a 35-6 win over previously-unbeaten Inman and ending with a perfect record for the second straight year.
Senior quarterback Damon Redeker says the team has been pushing itself since training camp.
Principal Shane Clark says the football program’s success is indicative of other successes in USD 252 Southern Lyon County.
By defeating Inman, the Eagles secured their third championship over the past decade, also winning in 2014. It’s also the fourth undefeated season for the Eagles, who finished 12-0 this year after ending last year 13-0. They also finished the 1964 and 1965 seasons undefeated.
