Special holiday shopping activities weren’t limited to Emporia on Saturday.
Chase County had its annual Country Christmas, and part of the activities included the second annual Holiday Tables and Trees fundraiser for the Chase County Old School Development District. Organizer Stephanie Murray says the project, designed to turn the old Chase County Elementary into a combination apartment complex and community center, could well serve as an activity hub for the county.
Lebo had activities as well, including the Jingle All the Way arts and crafts fair. Event organizer Angie Dowell says people turned out early to shop — but also to gather.
Both events featured a day’s worth of activities, including lighting ceremonies to close down Saturday. Activities started in Chase County on Friday evening and will finish with the second day of the Holiday Tables and Trees event Sunday.
