Swearing in its newest member will be one of many items on the agenda for the Emporia City Commission Wednesday afternoon.
Newly elected City Commissioner Jamie Sauder will take his oath of office as he fills the vacant seat left by former commissioner Jon Geitz who officially resigned from the commission on Nov. 17. Commissioners will also hold a public hearing to amend the 2021 budget and will review the revenue detail and expenditure summary for the multi-year and industrial development sales tax funds.
Commissioners may also lend approval to an expansion of the city’s RHID district proposed back in November by Special Projects Coordinator Jim Witt. A bid for improvements to city sanitary sewer lift station 2, a contract with BG consultants for a 24″ water line project, a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and a resolution authorizing participation in a national opioid settlement could all see approval as well.
The meeting begins at 1:30 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
