Lyon County commissioners could finalize plans to take part in a hefty sum of money coming to Kansas as part of their weekly action meeting Thursday.
Commissioners could sign documents to participate in the Kansas Opioids Memorandum of Understanding. This will let the county join the Kansas Fights Addiction Act, which will let Lyon County receive a share of funds received by the state through opioid litigation. The state act also lets Kansas establish a grant to address the impacts of substance abuse and addiction.
Other business Thursday includes a tax abatement resolution, commissioner and staff reports and three executive sessions.
The meeting starts at 9 am at the County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
