Lyon County deputies say a mother and daughter were hurt in Wednesday’s UTV crash near Emporia.
Deputy Tera Gifford says the wreck in the 1800 block of Road 150 happened when 41-year-old Heather Finnerty of Hartford was eastbound on 150 when she left the road to turn around in a field near Road U. The speed of the turn caused the UTV to roll on its side, injuring Finnerty and 19-year-old Brooke Finnerty of Manhattan.
Neither were wearing seatbelts. Both went to Newman Regional Health.
Gifford says Emporia/Lyon County EMS and Hartford-Neosho Rapids first responders were dispatched to the scene along with deputies.
