Sentencing is coming Friday for one of two Hartford residents accused of cruelty to dogs.
Thomas Staggs is on the Lyon County docket for sentencing at 10 am.
Staggs pleaded no contest to three counts of animal cruelty in October. He had been facing 17 counts after Lyon County deputies and the private group Guardians of the Wolves went to 303 East Grand in Hartford in May, removing 17 dogs from the property.
Staggs’ wife, Rhonda, was also facing 17 counts of animal cruelty before reaching a plea agreement on three counts. She’s set for sentencing Dec. 22.
