Pretrial hearings are planned Friday for two of the defendants in the Jesus Avila murder case.
Jordy Cornejo-Campoverde and Armando Nunez are set for pretrial and arraignment hearings at 2 pm. Both could learn their potential trial dates at Friday’s hearings.
Cornejo-Campoverde is accused of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery and other charges in Avila’s death, while Nunez faces charges of arson, aggravated robbery and interference with law enforcement. Avila’s body was found in a burned-out car near Emporia in September 2017.
