Another change has been announced to the state’s travel quarantine list as the coronavirus situation continues to evolve worldwide.
Barbados, Croatia, Faroe Islands and Georgia have been removed from the list, while Belgium, Czechia, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Netherlands and Slovakia have all been added.
Unvaccinated residents need to quarantine if they meet the criteria as listed below:
*Traveled on or after Nov. 4 to Slovenia.
*Traveled on or after Nov. 18 to Austria, Cayman Islands and Gibraltar.
*Traveled on or after Dec. 2 to Belgium, Czechia, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Netherlands and Slovakia.
*Traveled between Oct. 22 and Dec. 2 to Barbados and Georgia.
*Traveled between Nov. 4 and Dec. 2 to Faroe Islands.
*Traveled between Nov. 18 and Dec. 2 to Croatia.
*Attendance at any out-of-state or in-state mass gatherings of 500 or more where individuals do not socially distance (6 feet) and wear a mask.
*Been on a cruise ship or river cruise on or after March 15, 2020.
KDHE’s travel quarantine policy remains unchanged at a time when the omicron variant is now being noted in several US states and a number of countries worldwide. Unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated residents still need to quarantine for seven days with a negative test or 10 days without testing.
Fully-vaccinated residents, meaning residents who are two weeks past their final vaccine dose, do not have to quarantine if they have remained asymptomatic since they traveled. People who had COVID-19 in the past also don’t have to quarantine — if they have test evidence of a prior infection, are within six months of their infection and have remained asymptomatic since they traveled.
