The Emporia High basketball teams open their seasons Friday night.
They will be playing at Highland Park in Topeka.
The Emporia High girls go into their game ranked 10th in the 5A preseason coaches poll. Lady Spartan Coach Carolyn Dorsey says they will need to play up to expectations.
Senior Allie Baker says they need to work off of each other’s energy.
Emporia High boys coach Beau Welch says he is ready to get the season started.
Senior Jacob Ortega is also looking forward to the season.
Girls will tip off at 6 pm followed by the boys at around 7:30 pm.
Both games will be broadcast on KVOE 1400 AM/96.9FM.
