The grass fire danger is moderate to high across the KVOE listening area, and at least one grass fire developed northwest of Emporia early Friday afternoon.
Allen-Admire and Dunlap firefighters were called out around 1 pm to the junction of Roads 310 and B, about six miles west-southwest of Bushong. Early indications are as many as 15 acres were involved.
The Kansas Grassland Fire Danger index is high for Lyon and most surrounding counties Friday, reflecting mild temperatures, dry grasses, moderate humidity levels and occasionally breezy conditions. Greenwood County has a moderate fire risk.
