Infrastructure work is coming to part of the Americus Road due west of Emporia later this month.
City Clerk Kerry Sull says work on a sanitary sewer line is set to begin the week of Dec. 13. Construction will be on the west side of Americus Road between US Highway 50 and Road 180.
Work will involve lane closures and/or shifts, both along Americus Road and Road 180, throughout the roughly three-month project.
This project begins as road construction is in the late stages on US Highway 50 between Roads E-5 and F. The highway is being expanded from two lanes to four. Work could finish by the end of this year.
