One of two defendants in a combination hit-and-run and kidnapping incident from this past summer has been sentenced and the other will be sentenced later this week.
On Friday, Analysa Tamez was sentenced to 18 months probation with an underlying prison term of 16 months, meaning she goes to prison if she violates probation. In October, Tamez pleaded no contest to a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident, criminal restraint, intimidation of a victim and marijuana possession.
Co-defendant Mariah Lopez pleaded no contest to a single count of criminal restraint, victim intimidation and marijuana possession. She has sentencing at 9:30 am Wednesday.
Both were charged after an incident Aug. 2 where Emporia Police say both were in an SUV that struck a cyclist. Investigators says they then put the cyclist in the SUV, drove her around for roughly 30 minutes and then released her.
