(ESUAthletics) Emporia State’s track and field team had two event champions, two provisional qualifiers for nationals and a school-record set at the Pittsburg State Crimson & Gold Invitational at Pittsburg State.
Allie Barrett broke the women’s pole vault record with a vault of 12 feet 2 inches. Barrett placed ninth in the competition and provisionally qualified for nationals.
Jenna Ramsey fresh off her NCAA Cross Country meet appearance started the indoor season with a provisional qualifier in the 5000m. Her time was good for third place.
Emporia State’s men got a pair of event championships on the track. Guy Ramos won the 400m dash and Hayden Goodpaster won the 600-yard run.
The next action for Emporia State is scheduled to be the UCM Invitational on January 21 in Warrensburg, Missouri.
