Probation is coming for the second defendant in an Emporia hit-and-run and kidnapping incident from this past summer.
On Wednesday, Mariah Lopez was sentenced to 12 months probation for her involvement in a case where an SUV hit a cyclist at Ninth and East and the cyclist was then hauled into the SUV for a 30-minute drive around Emporia. She also has an underlying 12-month prison term.
Earlier this year, Lopez pleaded no contest to a single count of criminal restraint, victim intimidation and marijuana possession.
Co-defendant Analysa Tamez was sentenced last week to 18 months probation with an underlying prison term of 16 months. She had reached a plea agreement on a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident, criminal restraint, intimidation of a victim and marijuana possession.
