As the Salvation Army’s bell-ringing fundraising campaign continues, the Emporia Lions Club stands ready to help.
Club member Gary Post says fellow club members will not only ring bells at two local kettles Saturday — they will match the first part of incoming donations.
Hours will be 12-5:30 pm at Bluestem and 12-6 pm at Walmart. Nearly 15 club members will be involved.
This comes as the Salvation Army is well into its annual campaign, seeking to raise $75,000 for various individual needs.
In addition, the Lions are nearing the end of the annual Random Acts of Kindness holiday activity. Club members have been handing out $100 bills to community members in need and could be wrapping up that process next week.
