A Burlingame man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into several vehicles in Osage City earlier this month.
Osage City Police Chief Fred Nech says the investigation into auto burglaries began Dec. 7, shortly after at least two vehicles in the 700 block of Lord had items stolen earlier in the day. The investigation led to Burlingame, where 35-year-old Joseph R Herrick was arrested.
Nech says some of the items allegedly stolen were recovered when Herrick was arrested. Herrick has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft along with a probation violation warrant out of Shawnee County.
Nech credited Burlingame Police Chief Matthew Baker and numerous tips, both from other law enforcement agencies and social media, for Herrickās arrest.
