Concerns of high winds and critical fire danger have led to the issuance of a red flag warning for the entire KVOE listening area.
The warning goes from noon to 9 pm Wednesday and will see automatic burn bans in place throughout its duration meaning no burning will be permitted throughout the local area. The warning comes on top of a high wind warning for the entire listening area from 9 am to 9 pm Wednesday.
Wind gusts could approach 60 mph across the area, with winds at 30-40 mph steadily through the warning period. This could blow down tree limbs, whole trees in some cases and power lines, leading to power outages. Travel will also be difficult for high-profile vehicles traveling in most directions.
