A lack of available staff and student coverage has led to a learning model change for USD 386 Madison Virgil.
It was announced Monday that the district would be shifting to homebound learning as according to Acting Superintendent Steve Jowers on KVOE’s Morning Show recently, cases spread rapidly amongst staff over the course of the past week.
Jowers says the homebound learning model will remain in place through the end of this week which will take the district into its Christmas break.
All extracurricular activities have been halted for the time being and the district has had to postpone both its K-6 and 7-12th grade holiday concerts due to cases amongst the student population. The district will still be offering meals to students and families during the homebound change according to Jowers.
