A Nebraska man was arrested after allegedly being impaired behind the wheel and leading a chase into Osage City.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says a department investigator was contacted by a resident concerned about a possibly impaired driver near Carbondale. Wells says the vehicle was located, but the driver, later identified as 42-year-old Rogelio Garcia of Omaha, allegedly failed to yield after “multiple infractions” and a pursuit began. Garcia’s vehicle hit a tire-deflating device on Kansas Highway 31 near Osage City, and the vehicle eventually stopped in town.
Garcia was arrested on suspicion of felony flee and elude, DUI, battery on law enforcement and several traffic violations. Formal charges are pending.
