Students of Flint Hills Technical College culminated their educational journeys Friday night.
The college held its practical nurse pinning program at the college’s main campus and winter commencement ceremonies at the Humanitarian Center. Prior to receiving their degrees, students were treated to some words of inspiration from Command Chief of the Kansas Air National Guard’s 190th Air Refueling Wing Sherry Willard.
Willard’s message to the graduates centered on innovation, saying students cannot settle for just being “good enough today.”
FHTC President Dr. Caron Daugherty says Willard’s message was an appropriate one as innovation is a cornerstone in the foundation of FHTC.
A total of 50 FHTC students received their respective degrees and certificates during Friday’s ceremonies.
FHTC’s graduation activities overlapped with graduate student commencement activities for Emporia State University inside White Auditorium. Graduation activities continue for ESU Saturday with undergraduate commencement activities.
Undergraduate ceremonies will begin at 9:30 am.
