The Emporia High boys wrestling team finished in 1st place in the Emporia Winter Classic Saturday.
Emporia High Coach Brook Medrano called it another confidence builder.
The Spartans had 2 individual Champions.
Braxton Malone at 106 pounds.
Xerarch Tungjaroenkul at 145 pounds.
Three other Spartans finished in 2nd place.
Kyle Keosybouheuang at 113 pounds, Lukas Hainline at 126 pounds, and Jesse Ultreras at 170 pounds.
David Tucker at 132 pounds, Brayden Criger at 152, Davian White at 182 pounds and Bobby Trujillo at 195 pounds finished in 3rd place.
Chase County had 3 wrestlers finish in the top 3. Luke Budke finished in 2nd place at 106 pounds. Mitch Budke placed 2nd at 160 pounds and Brock Griffin finished 3rd at 170 pounds.
Burlingames Connor Collins finished in 3rd place at 145 pounds.
The Emporia High girls finished in 3rd place at the Basehor-Linwood Ladycat Classic.
Individually Madelynn Griffin finished in 2nd place at 126 pounds.
Virginia Munoz placed 3rd at 138 pounds.
Evelin Geronimo at 109 and Megan Olson at 235 finished in 4th place.
Both the Emporia High girls and boys wrestling teams host Spring Hill in a duel Tuesday.
