Emporia State University’s winter commencement exercises came after the Kansas Board of Regents announced increases to the university’s Comprehensive Fee Schedule effective for the 2022-2023 academic year beginning in August.
Residence hall fees will go up anywhere from 1.3 to nearly 2 percent for freshmen, but they are going down 12-17 percent for upperclassmen. The all-access meal plan will go up around 3.5 percent for all students, but other meal plans will not change.
Rate increases will help to retire debt, offset increased costs and fund ongoing renovations.
