Local authorities have apprehended the suspect involved in an alleged vehicle pursuit that began in Emporia and ended in Lyon County.
The situation began in the 2700 block of West 18th in Emporia as police officers attempted to serve a warrant on Rolando Galindo of Emporia. According to Lyon County Sheriff Jeff Cope, Galindo fled to his vehicle and proceeded north into the county with an unidentified female in the vehicle.
Authorities allegedly pursued Galindo across the northern portion of the county before his vehicle ran out of gas in the 1800 block of Road Y. Cope says Galindo then exited the vehicle and barricaded himself inside a residence in the vicinity.
Authorities were able to finally apprehend Galindo without incident and no injuries were reported to any of the individuals involved. Galindo is currently in custody with a list of potential charges pending from the Lyon County Attorney’s Office. Additional information is currently pending through the Emporia Police Department.
This is the second time Galindo has been allegedly involved in a vehicle pursuit locally. He is accused of leading officers on a pursuit through Emporia which ended in the 300 block of Weaver back in mid-August.
