Earlier this month, Newman Regional Health was recognized as an All Around Best of the Best facility through the Kansas Newborn Screening Program.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment made the announcement in partnership with the Kansas Hospital Association and Kansas Midwives Alliance. Health care facilities and newborn providers are recognized for their work with hearing screening, critical congenital heart defect screening, collection age, transit time and rates for metabolic and genetic screening. Women’s Life Center Director Heather Aylward says the award signifies the hard work done by hospital staff.
The Women’s Life Center offers pregnant moms care from the Becoming a Mon prenatal program to after they are delivered, and Aylward says the department has been busy with over 360 deliveries so far this year, up 20 from last year.
Also, Newman Regional Health Medical Partners has received Exemplary Provider status as part of its recent accreditation effort through The Compliance Team, a Medicare-approved accreditation organization.
The Compliance Team recently re-accredited NRH Medical Partners as a Rural Health Clinic before granting the Exemplary Provider designation, its highest for accreditation purposes.
The Rural Health Clinic process emphasizes health maintenance, preventive screening, so-called multi-specialty medical services and patient experience reporting among other goals. NRH Medical Partners was first accredited as a Rural Health Clinic in 2018.
