The need for blood donations remains at a critical level and as such the American Red Cross is offering the local community several opportunities to help combat national shortages in the new year.
During an interview on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia Wednesday, Susan Faler of the Red Cross listed a number of blood drives that will be occurring in Emporia at the start of 2022.
Additional blood drives will be held at Olpe High School on Jan. 5, the Lebo Community Building on Jan. 10 and in Burlington on Jan. 28. Faler asks residents to schedule appointments in advance to ensure they have adequate staff on hand.
She also asks that residents be on time for all appointments and if they have to cancel to give adequate notice if possible.
