It may still be the holiday season, however, the Emporia St. Patrick’s Committee is already set to go for St. Patrick’s activities this upcoming March.
According to committee member Barb Lowery, 2022 activities are “a go” with the annual live and silent auction set to take place at Bruff’s Sports Bar and Grill on Friday, Feb. 25 and the annual parade scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 19. As always, all proceeds will go to benefit local organizations in Emporia and the surrounding area as well as scholarships through Flint Hills Technical College and Emporia State University.
Lowery says applications for funding should be available by early January.
This will be the 26th year for the auction and parade and Lowery says they have been able to do a lot of good for the community in that time.
The theme for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration is Leprechaun Madness, which was supposed to be the theme for last year’s celebration.
